From allied health careers to nursing careers to critical care nursing, HCA Houston is committed to giving each of its employees a comprehensive benefits package that will ensure a rewarding professional life and highly satisfying personal life. Eligible employees may obtain benefits coverage once they have completed 30 days of service with an HCA affiliated hospital.
Our full-time and part-time benefits include:
- Paid Time Off - a program that combines vacation, holiday and sick leave in one flexible plan. Time off grows with years of service at your hospital. Employees take advantage of the option to "cash out" paid time off.
- Medical Insurance - medical plan options allow team members to choose the plan that works best for them. Choices include a HMO and a PPO plan with options to purchase "riders" that provide higher levels of coverage. You may select coverage for yourself or for as many of your eligible dependents as needed. All plans offer outstanding coverage, particularly in HCA affiliated hospitals.
- Dental Insurance - our dental plans also afford you and your dependents choice in the type of plan you prefer. With dental HMO and PPO choices, you are sure to find the dental coverage and providers that best meet your needs.
- Life Insurance - the hospital pays the full cost of life insurance equal to year's base salary for all full-time employees. Life insurance benefits also include the options to increase this amount up to 5 times annual base salary and to cover eligible dependents for amounts up to $25,000.
- Long-Term Disability - this plan offers you income protection if you are faced with a disability that prevents you from returning to work on a long-term basis. Disabled employees become eligible to apply for income replacement once they have been absent from work for a period of 5 months.
- Flexible Spending Accounts - allows employees to save money on their taxes. Even with excellent health and dental coverage, there are some "out-of-pocket" costs. The healthcare spending account provides a way to pay for these costs with before-tax dollars. Employees who must utilize day care providers while they are at work can also utilize the daycare spending account to pay most, or all of their day care expenses with tax-free money.
- HCA 401K Retirement Savings Plan - The HCA 401 K plan is designed to encourage individual savings and reward years of service with HCA. Plan participants are provided a 100% match for contributions up to established maximum percentages. These maximum percentages increase with years of service. This means that for every dollar saved by the employee, the hospital contributes $1 into their 401K plan up to the maximum established according to years of service. This plan also allows employees to determine how they will invest these funds within a wide array of fund choices. Regular account statements, web site tools and financial management classes enable team members to make educated choices to effectively prepare for retirement.
- Tuition Reimbursement - supports staff member's development, career progression, and learning by reimbursing costs of tuition, fees, and books for eligible coursework. This benefit is available to part-time and full-time employees with three months of service.
- Continuing Education - provides opportunities to advance your skills and knowledge, whether it's your allied health or critical care nursing career, through participation in ongoing education and development that include such classroom learning (on and offsite), preparation for professional certifications, online learning options and more.
- Other Benefits - these include Adoption Assistance, ConSern Student Loan, HCA Scholarship Program, Legal Assistance, Long Term Care, Short Term Disability, Vision Care, free parking, Cafeteria Discounts, Direct Deposit and much more.
